@ Our Pitness Protection Shelter!
Are you an animal welfare warrior that is looking to expand your knowledge and skill set in a shelter setting?
We are always looking for committed, passionate volunteers to volunteer at our State Registered #PitnessProtection shelter for canine cruelty survivors that are being held as live-evidence. We take our roles as ‘caretakers’ extremely seriously – focusing strongly on safety and security, with a high-level of confidentiality. We practice only non-aversive handling techniques and force-free, positive reinforcement based training. Volunteering at P2 includes cleaning, feeding, enriching, training and loving on 50-100 survivors in our care during daily care shifts. Current requirements are 2 shifts (approximately 3 hours each) a month. We are always motivated to train new volunteers and expand our trusted #P2Crew – if interested, please fill out our volunteer form below!
@ Events!
Love dogs? Love to have fun? Love to have fun for dogs? Then you have GOT to join our special event and fundraising crew! We have a blast spreading our mission and resources at shelter enrichment projects, fundraisers, outreach events and more!
We are also actively looking for motivated self-starters to assist in behind-the-scenes planning processes. For event-planning and execution, you must have the ability to shamelessly hustle to raise big funds for the amazing dogs we serve (you can doooo it!). Prefer hittin’ the ground and giving back to the dogs? Our shelter enrichment projects, spay/neuter initiatives through Project Grace, and outreach experiences have your name all over it!
@ Project Grace!
If there are two things that Bark Nation strives to encompass in everything we do, they are #1 – COLLABORATE!, and #2 – take a solutions-oriented approach. Do you have ANY idea how many pets have ‘oops litters’ in underserved communities? How many individuals have never heard of spay/neuter? How many pet owners jump at the chance to sign their pets up for community clinics if they know there will not be the burden of judgment or payment?
Bark Nation and Dog Aide have teamed up since 2016 to offer FREE services to dogs of Detroit residents – sterilization, vaccinations, microchip and City license. We are always looking for professional, forward-thinking, non-judgmental, kick-ass advocates to join our hotline and to volunteer at the clinics! Clinics run from early spring to late fall every year.
