We met Emily last November during the largest suspected dogfighting raid in Michigan history. That day, we brought 108 new friends into our care (now known as #TheGreat108).
After spending some time getting to know Emily, our team realized she had suffered more trauma than we could fix, and we noticed just how uncomfortable the big world around her made her. Together, we threw her a party, gave her the very best of her days, and said “see you later” to a very, very good girl.
We find peace in the fact that she did not die a horrible death on a chain or in a pit, and we honor the chance to have met her and have saved her that cold day last November. It’s because of dogs like Emily that we fight harder to end dogfighting.
