In 2013, our founders brought home 3 little American Pit Bull Terriers that were rescued during the 367 raid (a massive operation spanning multiple states with 367 survivors rescued in one day). Little did we know at the time just how much these survivors would teach us. Homer, Zander, and Taco (AKA #TeamZomo… the OZ’s!) inspired us to start a movement. A movement to bark louder and advocate for the beautiful, resilient, deserving victims of bloodsport. A movement to provide live outcomes and opportunities for dogs that were once thought to lack ‘useful purpose’. A movement to #enddogfighting and save lives.
For the last 10 years, Bark Nation has brought in over 800 survivors of dogfighting and canine cruelty, and provided them with medical rehabilitation, behavioral support, love, enrichment, and safety.
